In a chat, pick a local image, send it as a thumbnail, and tap to open the full image. Images are kept locally on your device and can only leave it when you choose to export, share, or back them up.
1. Send a Chat Image
You can send images in both direct and group chats.
Open a conversation and tap the add-image control next to the input bar.
Pick an image from your local photos.
After sending, the message appears as a thumbnail in the chat.
When you pick an image, the system may ask for Photos permission. This permission is used only for images you actively choose, and DreamChat does not upload images to the developer's servers. See the Privacy Policy for details.
2. Open the Full Image
Tap an image thumbnail in the chat to open the full image viewer. When you close it, you return to your place in the conversation.
3. Where Images Are Stored
The chat images you send, the generated thumbnails, and the message image state are stored locally on your device, with no developer-side collection. Images can only leave the device when you choose to export, share, or create a complete backup.
4. Deleting and Albums
You can organize chat images into Daily or group photo albums. Deleting a full image from an album keeps the chat thumbnail and context, so the conversation stays intact.
Complete backup and restore now include available chat images, so conversations and image context stay consistent after restoring. Backups are local files you create yourself and manage wherever you choose to save or share them, so please keep them secure.
